The player he pinned down was McArthur of Palace. Pardew didn't appear to be much interested! McArthur was a player Pearson tried to buy last summer apparently. Perhaps he held a grudge at being turned down.

Can't stand this relatively modern phenomenon of managers playing the victim card on behalf of themselves or their teams.
All the time, we hear them whining "the world's out to get me/you – everyone’s been knocking us – the press hate us - we'll prove them wrong" bollocks.
Then again, it probably does work in motivating the average thicko footballer. Suppose that's why they do it. Straight out of the Fergie/Jose playbook.

He needs to be careful. If he upsets too many people in the media he will find himself having a very difficult time in the press.
His behaviour on several occasions this season has been unusual, erratic and unacceptable. If he carries on he will get a backlash.
I don't like his body language. Or his demeanor. He is very much a bully type. Thinking he is clever by making odd comments and smiling as if to say "I know what I mean because I am clever. You don't know what I mean because you are stupid".
All his odd comments and aggressive remarks do nothing more than make the bloke look like an utter cunt.

Very revealing interview. Off the back of the mouthy outbursts and the grabbing the oppo round the throat seems to make it clear he's got anger issues and is a bully. Arrogant doesn't quite describe it. Note the way he made a comment about if the bloke was flexible enough so presume he's not as fit as Pearson. Then the thinly veiled comment about being able to smile when what he's inferring is he's lucky not to get a slap.

So basically back in November Pearson slagged off all teams who have players who surround the ref and now was asked what his stance is on his players doing it and he reacts like a cunt.

Pearson made a comment about how he was pleased they had been able to prove wrong all those that had been critical of them over the season - or something like that.
The reporter like everyone else wasn't sure what he meant as there has ben very little critical things said or written so asked him to elaborate
